I got to the castle, but then I couldn't figure out to carry the toad...

The weather has either been a bit unbearable hot or super rainy therefore I have been using my free time at night playing Super Mario Bros on Wii. When we got the Wii way back in December this was the one game I insisted we own, having a few fond memories of it from childhood. Sadly I was super bad then, and I am super bad now. But I have played like three days straight and now on only 5 lives I can get through worlds 1-1, 1-2, 1-3  and most of the way through the castle. Right as your clear world 1-3 this message pops up and asks you to go back and save toad. I don't care about toad really, but I went back for him. I can't figure out how to carry him to the finish. It is frustrating. I just want to win. Any tips out there y'all?

Don't worry I still totally hate you...

Update on the upset.... 2nd duet on American Idol, also a song selected during last years movie week. GRRRRRR

American Idol.....

....the worst season ever.

Seriously. Like the worst ever. Tonight I am especially upset with movie night. The first duet by, without a doubt the front runners of the competition, Crystal and Lee was a sub-par version of Falling Slowly (it won an Oscar). Kris Allen did a solid performance of it last year in the same theme week. I cannot believe that 1) they (Crystal and Lee) would pick a song that was covered only last year and 2) how the judges apparently have no memory of it being sooooooo much better than this version.
Ugghhh the only good thing about Idol is Ellen.

It's a hit and miss thing....

My lovely sister Laura, has blogged and talked to me all about her netflix troubles. And wowee Do I completely understand. I usually get into a kick where I think one actor or actress is like the best thing since sliced bread and put all of their work in my netflix queue. Like everything. but weeks later, maybe even months, when they finally arrive at my home, I think maybe I shouldn't have picked all of Kate Winslet's work- because frankly a whole heck of a lot of it is depressing heavy stuff. I also find that I often pick really crappy weird independent films. So more often than not the stuff that arrives at home it pretty touch and go. But I have to say thanks to instant streaming I have discovered like at least 10 television shows that I LOVE LOVE now. Maybe it is just like everything else the more you try the more you succeed.

Film Friday

This week's pick: All the real girls.

Finally found a Zooey Deschanel film that has let me down. I gave this one the ol' 2 college tries, I don't love her hair or accent in this one. And although I thougt I might love it- it is Zooey! and the main guy is from such greats like Elizabethtown (I might be the only one who loves that movie) and Parks and Recreation- I.did.not.love.it.

Sorry short and sweet this week- here's hoping I have better luck with next weeks picks.

oh yeah...

Oh yeah.... Now in my perfectly (seemingly) safe cute town- jerks are graffiti-ing everywhere- These are the doors on the back of the Tulip Toren. Plus maybe I am old- or from the Midwest but I have seen "tags" on like 12 different things so far and I can't figure out what a single one of them says. I guess the Police made 2 arrests this morning. So is everyone safe to get their paint brushes out to clean this up now?
