and then the pain in my back became a pain in everyone else butt

Sunday I threw my back out. It had never happened before so I might be using the term loosely but one second I was putting the dishes away the next I couldn't move, at all. But really, I had crap to do, so my back was going to have to wait. I do most all of my "chores" on Sunday, including laundry and cleaning, do you know how hard it is to move clothes from washer to a dryer when, well, you can't move??? It blows. Plus I excitedly got to go to another amazing shower for Chelsey and Baby J, but after returning from that shower my life sucked. Majorly. Like crying for minutes every time I attempted to move sucked. Shea had made a quick escape, which actually might have been better, in a no one can see me crying sorta way. but I was all alone, and mostly stuck where ever I was. I tried alternating hot/cold and pain meds, it was just getting worse. my bed if you have seem my new place was tall before raisers, but now sits on raisers so I can store things underneath, and it was nearly impossible to get up to. The floor also did not cut it. Monday was pretty painful all around. And today I have finally stopped crying when moving. I just need to make a shout out to Shea, who has put up with my general testiness and started bending down to get things for me, Leesa who at work took the elevator with me!

Film Friday

It is all about balance you see. This week I watched one very good movie. I.E. The Hurt Locker

And one definitely better than expected movie i.e. All about Steve
Taken separately one was to sobering to end the night, and one was to much fluff. If you haven't seen The Hurt Locker, you should. I have a feeling it is going to clean up at the Oscars. Plus I adore the leading man, and cameo from Lost's Kate, and it is a really sobering and impressive look at the kind of hostile environment the men and women of the US forces are facing over there.
All About Steve, left me more impressed and entertained than I thought it possibly could. Maybe I just have a soft spot of Sandra Bullock and useless information. But hey- I laughed, Shea laughed. No one cried.

Happy Birthday Shea!

It's official you are old balls now! Hahaha. Just remember how hung over you were in this picture? Now when you drink you will feel like this every time! That is right-being old has it perks! Thank you for joining me in in the 25 and older bracket! And for a bonus only you will understand "I believe in you, and you can do anything!"

Hell yes I love this song

This question comes courtesy of my super awesome friend: Shea Shea Mc Shea Shea.
"What's the sweetest song you forget you have? but when you stumble upon it your like hell yes I love this song."
My answer was: Mine, Mine, Mine from Pocahontas- whenever it comes up on my shuffle I love it! It completely takes me back.
What about you????

Silent Sunday

An extra special thanks to Kelsey- our awesome photog- who took all the pictures and sadly didn't end up in any of them! Shea walked away with over $270 (I think) with a $40 dollar investment- he treated us to ice cream! I walked out even with $40!

Updates...

With a working computer at home I am going to try to keep posting. Hopefully I won't have a two month gap in my posts anymore... Here is what I have been up to in the meantime.

I went to the state fair with some friends and found Pella Plaza- at the time I was very excited.
Hey look! That is my bosses name! I also found one of my employees in there!
We got Cy hats- and i happy forced everyone to wear them! Kelli looks good with Cy!
This was a week ago at the Kent state game. Emily was tailgating with family and friends and she took some time to say Cheese! and take a picture with me!
Shea myself and Kelly tailgating before the Kent State game. They are always so nice and let me crash on their couch when in town!

Getting historical

Shea came to visit about a month ago and we enjoyed all Pella had to offer- which is essentially the historical village! We had fun taken photos of everything!

Back to the Blog world

Wow it has been a lifetime since I last made a post. I am going to blame it all on my computer getting a virus and me thinking it wouldn't be professional to blog at work! I am gearing up for Cyclone football this weekend. I managed to snag a Kent State ticket from a friend and look forward to checking out the stadium with all the new I-State logos. I spent a bit of time in Ames this past weekend catching up with Shea and Nancy- seems like i hadn't seen them in SOOOO long. We had fun catching up and going out. I even managed to grab lunch with the very busy Kelli- a more involved person I do not know. I have no clue how she manages to balance her busy schedule but i am glad she manages to fit me in it!
