And another one bites the dust

I was wearing a pair of dress pants that back in October fit, but just barely, and today they just looked a bit odd. All baggy in the legs and saggy in the butt. Not that I have an amazing butt or anything but usually in well fitting pants. my butt looks pretty good. Today it was lackluster. So I have decided to retire them to the goodwill pile. Luckily for me Younkers is having a goodwill sale right now, and I have a whole bag of clothes and shoes that no longer fit and need new homes. So is anyone going to need a Younkers Coupon? I imagine I will be in the possession of several by the weekend. Another weird side effect of losing weight? None of my shoes fit anymore. I used to love to wear ballet flats to work, they were simple to slip on, and never uncomfortable, now I walk right out of them. Like all of them. That was at least half of my shoes. I didn't think my feet were fat until I started to lose weight. Turns out I am between a size 8 and 8 1/2, but  had been routinely buying 9's or 9 1/2's since high school. I am down to like 3 pairs of dress shoes which are all heels, which luckily due to weight loss are now comfortable to wear all day long.

Today I also had my bio-metric screening. My news wasn't great, but because of WW i already knew my stats and that I need to lose weight. Most of my other results were right in the normal range, however my good cholesterol is lower than they like and my blood pressure was just slightly higher than they would like. Hopefully next year when I get it completed again I will be in the normal ranges for everything.

I had a totally nineties experience today... and it was awesome

Today I had the pleasure of having a girls day. Shopping with my great friend Kelsey and my sister Chelsey. We are preparing for our trip to Vegas next month. Oh, what you say? You're going to Vegas? Yes. Yes I am. It will be amazing beyond words. Actually I don't know this, what I do know if the people I am going with are awesome and we have fun together. So I imagine, without difficulty, that traveling with awesome people will lead to awesome events/memories. But I digress. Girls day. We did some pretty great shopping, everyone picked out new flats to walk around Vegas in. I picked out some new jeans, and Chelsey bought shirts without trying them on, she is more brave than anyone I know. But the best part for me might have been my flashback to the nineties brought on courtesy of Claires. Now I know you are thinking, what is any self respecting adult doing inside a Claires? It is simple really. In the late nineties or early two thousands I got a my upper ear pierced. And somehow in the passing years stores stopped selling earring specifically for that part of the ear. I wore my piercing straight through high school and college and took it out for my first job in the real world. I remember in high school this piercing being super popular, tons of my friends had it, to the point where it was always an acceptable birthday gift to give a different earring. A couple of years later put it back in (it never seems to grow shut). And wore it for several months/years until it fell out and broke. Ever since late summer I have been searching stores for a replacement. I can't just put a stud in because I sleep on that side of my face and the post would drive into my head. Luckily my sister-in-law Chelsey had the exactly same problem and while they no longer sell these earnings separately, we found a two pack and split them! I remember spending hours of my pre-teen and teenager years at Claires, one of the few store the Oskaloosa Mall had. The are essentially unchanged. Lots of cheap looking jewelry and teens buying it. But it was still fun to have the flashback.

Things I love... Store Edition

Ok so I love, Love- everything from this store. It is a local store called : Embellish- They rock my world.
These are my two favorite necklaces- The Passport one: is the only one I wear with any regularity, the blue one I usually wear with dress up clothes- wore it to my job interview yesterday.
These are magnets- just got them recently- and I LOVE them!

This red purse- I got last winter- I love red, it is big enough to fit just about anything in (which I love- no need for a lunch bag, when you've got this)

I cannot express my love for this particular purse enough! really I.Love.It.

My fav- earrings- to amazing not to wear

Design Dilemma

Ok guys- I have a Design Dilemma. I picked up this seriously awesome canister at Target last weekend. It was 100% to good to pass up, but now were do I put it? I think the pears will clash with all the pineapples in the kitchen.
So what is left? On the desk, guest bedroom (which would make me slightly sad- because I would likely see it less in there) Bedroom or Bathroom? Any thoughts?????

Flip and Tumble...

A couple weeks ago I stumbled upon some pretty awesome reusable shopping bags: Flip and Tumble. It really seems that reusable shopping bags have become the en vogue thing to do- every store sells them- and honestly I have been tempted multiple times to pick a couple up. The main drawbacks to them were always the same- 1) Company Logo big on the bag- call me crazy but I hate going to HyVee with a Wal Mart sack, and vice versa. 2) They didn't look super sturdy- I buy heavy things and carry them long distances. 3) How would I ever remember to take them with me to use them the next time? (most of my shopping being done directly after work- not planned out ahead of time)

A major win for this bag- The handle is long enough to carry on the shoulder- this helps when you buy heavy stuff.

It's unique design- it folds up into this little ball (about the size of an apple) When you are done unloading your stuff- fold it up, throw it back into purse- I have yet to forget to take it with me!

Not only are they strong- they look really, super cute. I brought three: Pink, Blue, and Purple. Now I can be stylish, not advertise for a store, save the environment. Sweet deal! I can fit about two regular plastic bags worth of stuff into this bag. It is strong enough to haul a half gallon of milk and several can goods-plus other stuff without much effort. The shoulder strap has some felt on the top to keep it some slipping off. They are definitely more expensive than the bags you would buy at the store- but so far I feel they have definitely proven their worth. I am 100% completely happy about the purchase! I feel good about helping the environment and saving some money too- I have gotten several rebates for using my own bag at the store!
